Providing an 'Education for a socially
viable work force' has been the singular goal of our college ever since the first
days of the school. Since the university was founded in 1959 we have pursued the
development of a practical education for a new era while seeking to educate a
skilled work force that will approach every hurdle with determination, in the
Spirit of the Challenge, by applying verified technology and expertise and developing
a well-rounded character. Today, the existence of the Engineering department and
the Management and Information Science department is the result of that perseverance. |

The most important feature at our college
is the 'practical science education' in each of the main areas of Engineering,
Information Technology, and Business. In Engineering the focus is innovation and
production; the field of Information Technology is essential for production as
well as for the needs of society and individual living. The field of Business,
as Information Technology, will be even more pivotal in the future. A tradition
of positive effort in fields such as these has earned our school a reputation
of being a 'strong competitor'. |

Given Japan's technologically oriented
policy, the Chubu district, the production region of Japan famous for its innovation
with its unequaled manufacturing sites, its service and its retailers, is showing
real signs of economic expansion. The 'Central Japan International Airport', Expo
2005 Aichi and the revitalization of the Nagoya Station area have all contributed
to this growth. |

Our university, with its location in
the middle of this great activity, aims to advance further in its efforts of supporting
a student body that embraces the spirit of challenge, and to enable practical
education in generations to come. |
